Countdown to Christmas Clipboards

Hello! I'll bet you all thought that I disappeared from the face of the earth. Well, that is not the case. I've just been distracted and busy. Something I'm sure a lot of you can relate to! I did want to share with you these two Countdown to Christmas clipboards that I made to sell at a home based business show. I was secretly hoping they wouldn't sell and they didn't! Now, I'm not sure why I would need two so I'll probably be giving one away as a gift! But I'm not sure which one! I used Designer Series papers from the Holiday mini catalog and I think the alphabet is the typeset alphabet which we no longer have but you could use any smaller alphabet you have. Once I got the first one done the second one went together much quicker. I used velcro dots to attach the numbers and attached a clear envelope on the back with the other numbers in it on the back of the clipboard. I had a lot of fun making these and would like to do some others with some different design/layouts. Thanks for lookin'!

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to share this simply spooky card with you today. The sets I used are Halloween Frights, the tree from Season of Friendship and the Frightful Fence jumbo wheel all from the Holiday Mini. The card stock is Basic Gray and Black, same colors for the ink except for the moon. It is stamped in So Saffron Craft ink. Hope you have a Frightful Halloween!

Snowflake Season

Another card with Seasons of Friendship set! Here in Nebraska they are predicting that we will be seeing some of the white stuff but that didn't "inspire" this card. I had cards to make for a swap and this is what I came up with. Colors are Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red & Whisper White.
I stamped the tree on paper from the Ski Slope DSP in the Holiday mini. I also stamped snowflakes on the DSP with the White Craft pad and embossed it with Iredescent Ice Embossing powder. It's very subtle but gives it some sparkle. I used the Little Felt Flurries snowflakes and Rhinestone brads from the pretties kit for embellishment. The greeting and felt snowflake are popped up with stampin' dimensionals as is the red bird in the tree. Thanks for stopping by and stay warm!

Pretty in Pink Rocks!

Hello! It's the start of a new week and I couldn't wait to get into my stamp room and do some "just for fun" stamping. This is the first card that I've made with the Just Jawing set. I couldn't wait to get this set. I guess you could say that I have eclectic taste. I really like lots of different styles and as you can see this reflects in my stamp set choices. For this card I chose Basic Gray & Pretty in Pink for the colors. I also used the Gratuitous Graffiti background stamp and stamped it with Basic Gray on Branbury DSP. I used the DSP for the heart eyes too. Of coarse it needed some bling so I used chunky pink glitter for the bow and the pink Rhinestone brads. I embossed "You Rock" in with black embossing powder. You probably can't tell in the picture but I used stampin' dimensionals to attach the skull to the card. Who knew skulls and pink went so well together?!

Thanks for stopping by. YOU ROCK!

Twigster Christmas

I love snowmen! Although I really don't like the cold the snow is often beautiful. As soon as I saw the Mr. Twigster set in the mini catalog I knew that he'd be coming to my house. He's a very unusual snowman but ya gotta love him! This is not your traditional Christmas card either. I would have never made a Christmas card with these colors before but I really like how it turned out. I took my color scheme from the Frosty Day Designer paper in the mini catalog. So the colors I used were Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip (what else?!) Hope you enjoy this snowman too.

More World Card Making Day

Here are four more cards that I offered at my World Card Making Day(s). I tried to offer several different kinds of cards. I also wanted to keep it simple so that they could complete all ten cards in approxamately 2 1/2 hours.
The Thanksgiving card was made with the Autumn Vine DSP in the Holiday Mini. I really love this paper! The set is Autumn Harvest that is in the Idea Book and Catalog. The Glad We're Friends Card was made with the Eastern Blooms Set & Best Yet Hostess set. The colors are Tangerine Tango & Kiwi Kiss.

The two cards below are the last two cards I designed. Can you tell?! I went for monocromatic! The Navy card is made with the Beautiful Borders set and Urban Garden DSP. The Elegant Eggplant card is made with the Say It With Scallops set and Bella Toile background stamp. I absolutely love this background stamp! That's all for today. Happy Stampin'!

Martini Time

This has nothing to do with drinking Martini's or Stamping. This is all about my kitty! Yes, his name is Martini. A friend requested that I post a picture of him here. So here he is! He's a great companion, fun to play with and is a great lap cat. This is probably the best look you will get of him because he's also a "Scardy Cat"! If you come to the house he will run and hide. Which is really weird because he does like to be petted, just not by everyone though. He keeps me company in my stamp room and sometimes he sits on my lap when I'm stampin'. Luv my cat!!

World Card Making Day - Non Card Projects

Today I've been finishing cutting paper and making samples for my World Card Making Day events. These are two non card projects I'm offering. The box-bags and pizza boxes are very easy to make and with the Designer Series Papers you can put them together quickly! The pizza boxes can hold those little 3x3 cards or a little treat or gift. I think my customers will enjoy making these as much as I did!
Now I better go back to "work"!!

Season of Friendship

Happy Tuesday! Sorry, once again I'm slow at getting here! If you are a farmer's wife you will understand when I say that sometimes your plans change unexpectedly. Yesterday was one of those days! I'm also getting ready for my two days of World Card Making Day events. Here is one of the cards that we will be making. It's made with the Season of Friendship set in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I really love this set! At first I was going to do a fall card but then got to thinking that I hadn't seen a lot of cards done with this set with the flowers so I came up with this. The colors are Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red and Basic Brown for the tree. I wanted to keep it simple as the attendees will be making 10 cards. I really like these colors and even though there are no brads, ribbon or other accessories I think it's kinda cute. More later. Thanks for stopping by!

Snow Swirled

I've been busy preparing for my Stamp Club and Class. Snow Swirled is on the Never Before Seen Promotion so I thought it only right that we make a card for the class with this set! I used Riding Hood Red which really "pops" when next to the Whisper White card stock. I wanted the card to shine and sparkle so embossed snowflakes with clear embossing powder along with the smaller red snowfakes. I'm not sure how well you will be able to see it in the photo but it gives it some nice texture too. I used Sterling Silver embossing powder for the tree and topped it off with the punched star and snowflake with silver brad in the center. I used my new oval punch on this card for the first time! I stamped the large snowflake in the set in red on the oval then embossed the greeting in silver and sponged around the edge to finish it off. It's a pretty simple card to make but it's kind of elegant too. Thanks for looking!

Say It With Scallops!

Sorry I've been away so long. Last Friday we decided to take off and go to Cheyenne to see some good friends for an extended weekend. We returned home on Monday night. We had a great time but it took me a while to catch up! I finally got a chance to sit down and do some stamping this afternoon. I decided to play with the Say It With Scallops set that we recieved at Convention.

I also used the new square scallop punch and scallop edge punch on both of these cards. I also used Branbury Designer Paper on both cards. This is a fun little set!

Colors for the upper card: Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette.

Colors for lower card: Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip. I also used some beads from the Green Dou. I attached the beads with some crystal effects. I cut the square scallop in half and used the halves across the top and used the singlo gel pen to make dots on the scallops.

Kiwi & Chocolate Silhouettes

Hi! Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend. We didn't do much but it was a nice break from the usual!
This is one of my latest creations made with another of my favorite sets, Pocket Silhouettes, from the new Catalog & Idea Book. I used Kiwi Kiss & Chocolate Chip card stock & ink. I also used the new Bella Rose DSP and Label Punch, Chocolate grosgrain ribbon and did some sponging and paper piercing. I really love how it turned out.
The Pocket Silhouettes set is one that is on the Never Before Seen Promotion so be sure and check that out.
Thanks for stopping by!

Chocolate Daisy

I've been having a lot of fun creating with my new sets. This is one of my favorite sets in the New Catty, Upsy Daisy. But in this case it's "Chocolate Daisy"! I can't seem to make anything without Chocolate Chip lately. I use the Baja Breeze with the Chocolate Chip, Urban Garden DSP, Wide Chocolate grosgrain ribbon, Vanilla taffeta and the slide is from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge. It's a really simple card to make and I can see it in some different color combos so I'll probably be experimenting with different colors!
Have a great Labor Day weekend!

Retro Birthday

Hello! This is my attempt at a bright and cheerful Birthday card. I made this card for a swap I'm in. When the swap hostess received my swaps she said it was "Retro"! LOL! Well, I have to agree although that wasn't my intent. The Stamp Set I used is Wow Flowers. The colors are Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turqoise. I really like this set. It's so easy to work with. Thanks for lookin'.

New Look!

Hi! I've been doing a little research on how to make my blog look better. Do you like the "New Look"? It's starting to look a little more "ME". I'm not posting any projects right now but have some waiting to be uploaded so check back soon! Thanks for stopping by.

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

Thought you might like to see the inside of the card I posted yesterday. I really like how it all turned out! I'm sure it would look great in some other color combinations so I will have to try it! I put a piece of Elegant Eggplant Card stock behind the cut out piece in the front of the card. I attached it with dimentionals to give it some depth. Hope you like the inside as well as the outside.

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Well, as you can see it's been a LONG time since I've done anything on my blog! I'm looking forward to putting some time in here now that I'm going to be an "empty nester" in a couple of weeks! Just me the DH and "The CAT"! LOL!
On to stampin'. This is a card I made a few weeks back with the new Fresh Cuts set and Fresh Cut notes. Made with a couple of my favorite SU! colors, Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive. Enjoy!
More tomorrow........
